Don’t you just love it when things happen serendipitously? It doesn’t happen often, but it’s always a nice surprise.
And my serendipitous moment this week resulted in a new art quilt pattern called Photolicious.
Last week I began making an art quilt using one of my 6″ x 8″ Photo Art on Fabric prints. This is the finished art quilt and I just love the way it turned out.
And of course it was so much fun making this quilt I couldn’t stop at one! This time I used a 8″ x 10″ printed photo.
Photolicious Photo Quilt Pattern
The design of the photo quilt was so simple and special that it was an easy thing to turn it into a pattern. Usually designing a pattern takes a long time and is a laborious step-by-step process, but this went together so easily, I can only think it was just meant to be.
And of course you don’t need to use a Photo Art print to make this photo quilt, you could also use your favorite photo printed on fabric and I’m in the process of making one using a photo of my grandson. I’ll be posting a photo shortly.
Update: here it is and isn’t he cute!
The pattern is available as either a pdf instant download or a printed pattern, and includes instructions and supply lists to make the quilt using two sizes of photos – 6″ x 8″ and 8″ x 10″ – plus two embellishing options.
